- Curtworth Masango

JERRY Chipangura is excited to have completed a move to Greenfuel on a one-year deal.

Chipangura was instrumental for Yadah’s last-minute survival in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League last season after joining them from Harare City on loan.

Greenfuel are bolstering their squad ahead of the 2024 season.

“I am thrilled to join Greenfuel. I have enjoyed some time at Yadah while I was on loan from Harare City, but I felt the time had come for a new challenge.

“I am excited at the chance I have to be part of the next phase in the club’s history.

“I would have wanted to continue with Yadah as my time there and the reception was great, but couldn’t turn down the chance to join Greenfuel. I look forward to helping the manager and the team to success during my stint with the club.

“My biggest job is to help the team with scoring so that the club achieves all its goals. So, I am looking forward to scoring as many goals as possible,” he said.

The Ethanol Boys are plotting a more exciting season in 2024 as they are guaranteed of a home venue unlike in their debut season where they were away from home for the entire first half of the campaign.

Greenfuel have also acquired the services of Nedrick Madeya and Godwin Goriati from Hwange, Anelka Chivandire, who returns from Botswana, and Learnmore Muyambo, who is a Supersport Academy product.

The club will be conducting open trials starting next week.

Club chairman Fredson Moyo believes the team is assembling an exciting squad.

“We have acquired several exciting players and we hope that they are going to jell well with the guys we already had.

“We will also have open trials to see if we can have some unknown players, who can be part of the squad.

“As a club that also wants to give back to its community, we have arranged with local schools and lower division clubs to channel players to our system. It is our great wish to always accommodate as many players as we can who have their roots here.

“We are also looking forward to having Luke Muiskiri and Stephen Chatikobo, who were with Simba Bhora, back in the fold. They are also home grown talent.”
