Author inspires people to achieve their goals

- Maria Chiguvari

CLEOPATRA Mutetwa believes that the cover of her book, titled Incubate Your Hope, may make it easier for people not to judge the book by its cover.

The book reflects the idea of protecting hope and inspires individuals to achieve their goals by personifying hope as a baby and taking responsibility to care for its special needs. Mutetwa (22) said she was inspired by a sermon by American pastor and author Sarah Jakes Roberts.

The book was released in October last year and addresses challenges such as drug abuse, gender-based violence and depression.

Despite the challenges of marketing the book,

Mutetwa hopes to spread a reading culture and motivate people to protect their hope.

“This book leads you into achieving your individual goals by personifying your hope as a baby and taking the responsibility to cater for its special needs.

“I was listening to a sermon by Sandra Jakes Roberts last year, and she was talking about starving fears and feeding your faith.

“I became so keen of the ideology and found myself envisioning an incubator of hope. We face different challenges in life that make it difficult for us to always be hopeful.

“Cases of drug abuse, gender-based violence and depression have increased in the past few years and this is a clear indication that we are losing the zeal that used to keep us going.

“The main challenges I’ve been facing as an author is selling my book. I am motivated to learn more about marketing and selling my book.

“The art industry is still battling to find its feet when it comes to being able to sell products. I also want to help spread the reading culture because we write for the people,” she said.
