HOLY TEN, MAGZ, HITS, BROTHERHOOD, LIES

- Latwell Nyangu

RAPPER Holy Ten says a lot of lies have been created about the abrupt end of his relationship with Michael Magz and the ugly issues were affecting the release of fresh material from his Samanyanga Sounds label.

The relationship between the two, ended late last year.

In an interview on the DJ Denny podcast, Holy Ten said he would consider reconciliation only if Magz apologised for lying to him.

“We have been brothers from the time we met. He had been sending a lot of stuff since 2019. I used to listen and watch him and asked him to come and work with me.

“I don’t know why we broke up.

“I still need to understand where the bitterness is coming from. We haven’t spoken about it. We had been doing a lot with Michael Magz; we have been through a lot, even in other countries.

“I didn’t fire Michael Magz but changed the terms of the working relationship we had.” He added:

“I understand that we would help each other musically, but if you are working at Econet, the guy anotengesa ma-lines can never drive the same car as Strive Masiyiwa.

“But when we blur those lines, people might forget that they have only been popping with two songs in two months.”

He said he bought Magz the VW vehicle he now drives.

“People are gonna see things the way they see it, but they are not even asking that two weeks later, after you leave someone, you have a car.

“And you are coming from a place where you are saying they were giving you US$60. And, two weeks after leaving Samanyanga sounds, you have a US$10 000 vehicle.

“I feel there is an agenda, just to say let’s troll Ten, but if we really sit down and talk about these things, you will understand.

“Let me drop it right now, I bought that VW, that’s Samanyanga Sounds, we bought the car.

“I told you Michael Magz is always gonna be my brother, we have been through a lot. This stuff on the internet is not bigger than what is on the ground.”

Despite the end of their business relationship, Holy Ten praised Magz’s talent.

“He did a lot of work for the brand, and I appreciate it. I can’t take anything from Michael Magz, he is the best producer, with beats, he understands way more.

“We have been doing a lot and I attribute 50 percent of my success in 2023 to him.

“If he can apologise for the lies then we are good to go. That’s the guy I went with kunoroora, it’s heartbreaking. He is gonna be a Samanyanga Sounds product.

“A lot of songs are no longer going to be dropped because of these internal issues. There isn’t going to be music for people because of these issues.”
