EX-DEMBARE STRIKER NOW SET TO JOIN CAPS

- Bruce Chikuni Sports Reporter

JAYDEN Bakari is on his way to CAPS United after being shown the exit at Harare rivals, Dynamos.

It is the second time in three seasons that Dynamos showed the 2022 Castle Lager Premiership Most Promising Player the door.

Bakari’s camp confirmed to Zimpapers Sports that he is joining CAPS United on a one-year contract.

He had hoped to continue his stay with his childhood club but DeMbare looked sideways when assembling their squad for the 2024 season.

The last time Dynamos offloaded him, Bakari went on to score nine goals for Whawha.

Dynamos then did everything in their power to win his signature last season ahead of Highlanders, FC Platinum and Manica Diamonds.

However, his dream return turned out to be a nightmare.

He missed the first five games of the campaign while waiting to be cleared by his former side and this resulted in a reduced role.

In the end he recorded two goals and managed four assists.

“It’s something which was beyond my control, I wanted to continue with Dynamos.

“I want to thank everyone who helped me to grow during my time at the team and I believe that one day I will play for Dynamos again.

“Representing Dynamos has always been every player’s dream and, as someone who came through the club’s youth system, it was a dream come true to finally play for this team,” said Bakari.

He added:

“I’m now looking forward to the next challenge. I believe in myself and I know it’s just a matter of time before things start to move smoothly again.

“I believe I have what it takes to play for any local big club.

“I’m just hoping for an injury-free season because it’s something which dragged my progress last season.”
