CHIEFS RETAIN KEY PLAYERS
AS the dates for the start of the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season draw closer, ambitious side Bulawayo Chiefs have announced they have retained some of their players from the previous season.
They have however, lost striker Obriel Chirinda to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Amakhosi Amahle, as they are affectionately known, have retained the services of three of their players from last season while also adding new arsenal to their team as they look to rebuild after losing a number of their regulars.
The three players that Chiefs announced to have been retained are defender Panashe Shoko, midfielder Miguel Feldman and goalkeeper Tinotenda Chinovhiringa.
Amakhosi Amahle have also managed to secure the services of striker, Mpilwenhle Dube, who was plying his trade in Division One.
“We are thrilled to announce that 20-year old Tinotenda ‘Chigova’ Chinoviringa has been retained to the 2024 squad as one of our goalkeepers.
“After a brave display in the last games of the 2023 season, Tinotenda has proven himself to be a valuable asset to our team.
“With strengths in distribution and a strong right foot, we are confident that Tinotenda will continue to excel in his position,” read a statement from Chiefs.
Chiefs said they were also happy Feldman and Shoko will remain at the club.
“We are thrilled to announce that Panashe Shoko will be retaining his position in the Bulawayo Chiefs squad for the 2024 season and beyond.
“With his strong left foot and impressive skill in crossing, shooting and passing, Panashe has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the team.
“Some of Miguel’s (Feldman) strengths include exceptional dribbling skills, precise passing and clinical finishing abilities.
“We are excited to see Miguel continue to contribute his talent and passion to our team in the upcoming season,” read the statement.
Their new striker, Dube has previously played for Filabusi United, Talen Vision and Jordan Sinnott in the First Division.
