I ENJOY MEN’S COMPANY SAYS COMEDIENNE NYARIE
COMEDIENNE Nyasha Usai says she feels comfortable working in an environment dominated by men.
She feels many women spend much of their production time gossiping around and arguing over petty issues.
Better known as Nyarie in comedy circles, the entertainer has worked closely with fitness enthusiast Kudzie Musabvunda of the Musabvunda Fitness brand.
In comedy circles, the 29-year-old has created a good partnership with the man-ofthe-moment Dan Grego as they act as husband and wife in most skits.
“I enjoy the company of men because they don’t have time for gossiping as they prioritise their jobs first.
“People go through a lot but they hardly show it as they wear brave faces.
“In comedy, I have worked with a whole lot of people like Dan Grego, Bamunini Nijo, Comic Pastor, Shugetta, Kapfupi, the Darling Media production team and Blessing Chiwoko.
“From this list, you can see that I enjoy good working relationships with men which has made my work easier,” she said.
Nyarie, who stars in most skits as Dan Grego’s wife, said:
“There are some people who believe that we are husband and wife in real life yet we are not.
“I’m glad that Grego’s wife understands that it’s only acting and nothing more.
“However, there are some who believe we are husband and wife and they sometimes confront me for abusing Grego.”
Nyarie, who was raised under tough conditions after losing her parents at a young age, said she was now earning a living through comedy.
“I can safely say I am comfortable as a comedienne even though I am still building my numbers.
“I can afford the basics like sending my son to school every day with a well-served tuck and he has never missed lessons because of lack of bus fare,” she said.
Nyarie also gets along well with other women in comedy.
“I am one person who is willing to learn from some of my big sisters in the game
“I am always in touch with Bee Wezhira, Patricia, Lorraine Guyo, Gamuchirai Dube and Mbuya Pearson, among others.
“We have a strong bond and we are together at this moment.”
Nyarie started acting in 2021.
