THE whereabouts of a 17-year-old Rusape girl, who mysteriously went missing on January 22, has torched a storm with family members and residents accusing a sangoma of being aware of where the girl is.

Tadiwa Chitowa’s family is still in the dark following the disappearance of the Form 2 girl.

A missing person poster was circulated and a lot of theories have been emerging with some claiming the girl is dead while others are saying she was used for rituals by the sangoma.

The sangoma, known as Diva Chikaunga, is now being said to be aware of where the girl is.

In some audio recordings, the sangoma admitted to knowing the girl.

“Mupwere ndomuziva.”

On Friday, chaos erupted.

“On Friday, her family and other residents stormed his house demanding him to show them the whereabouts of the missing girl,” said a source.

“He promised to bring the girl today (Monday) and no one was allowed inside the house except the family.

“So people will go back to the house on Monday (today).

“Some are saying the sangoma was staying with the girl, vamwe vari kuti akarombeswa, saka nyaya yacho iri kunetsa.

“Since January 22, haasati amboonekwa.” Another source said:

“The sangoma produced audios in which he was called by the girl using a private call. “She didn’t tell him where she is.

“On Friday, he tried to perform some rituals to tell us where the girl is zvikaramba akazoti dzokai on Monday.”

A recorded conversation between Chikaunda, and the missing girl, appears to suggest she is alive.

“I called them telling them that I am alive, handina kufa, not zvekuudzwa kumapostori kuti ndakafa,” she says.

“I won’t tell them where I am.

“Handina chandichaita until ndafunga kuzouya hangu, kwandakagara kuri kundiitira hangu.

“Ndiri pasi penyika, ndiri kumboidya rutivi and why are they saying ndakacherekeswa?

“Why are they saying ndakauraya, chingozivai ndiri pasi penyika ndakaenda kure nemi.

“Muchazongoona ndauya.”

The sangoma confirmed, in the audio recordings, that he was under relentless pressure.

“Ndapinda busy wangu, I am in trouble, ndiri panguva yakaoma. They are accusing me of staying with you as my wife, hanzi ndaikuita mukadzi wechikwambo, ndairara newe, ndakakuchekeresa. Hanzi ndakakuroodza kuPlumtree kune musoja.”

A relative, who chose not to identify himself, said:

“We are angry about what he (sangoma) did, we are not happy with what he is doing.

“Mwana ndewedu, zvamuri kuita nemwana tiri kuzviziva, we are coming for him.”
