STUDENTS IMPRESSED BY ZIMPAPERS 2024 CAREERS AND SKILLS EXPO
THE Zimpapers 2024 Careers and Skills Expo brought together leading companies, educational institutions and industry professionals to engage with students.
It provided a platform for students to gain insight into various career paths, develop essential skills, and establish priceless connections.
The event, which aimed to create a vibrant hub for career development and networking was a resounding success as students explored the diverse range of opportunities available to them.
Jane Kapembeza, a final-year university student said attending the Expo was an eye-opening experience.
“The panel discussions were incredibly insightful and I learned so much about the industry I’m passionate about.
“I even had the opportunity to network with professionals who provided valuable advice and opened doors for potential internships,” said Jane.
Michael Ndlovu, a second-year student at Chinhoyi University, said the Expo helped him to have insight on the recruitment processes of various companies.
“I was thrilled to see such a diverse range of companies present at the expo. I had the chance to speak with representatives from my dream company.
“It was an invaluable opportunity to make a lasting impression and potentially secure future job prospects,” said Michael.
Makanaka Matsike, a student from Tynwald High School, said students were encouraged to participate in skill-building workshops, resume clinics and mock interview sessions to enhance their employability and boost their confidence on the job market.
“The workshops and resume clinics were immensely helpful in refining my professional skills. I received personalised feedback on my resume and gained valuable tips for interview preparation.”
