STUDENTS IMPRESSED BY ZIMPAPERS 2024 CAREERS AND SKILLS EXPO

THE Zimpapers 2024 Careers and Skills Expo brought together leading companies, educationa­l institutio­ns and industry profession­als to engage with students.

It provided a platform for students to gain insight into various career paths, develop essential skills, and establish priceless connection­s.

The event, which aimed to create a vibrant hub for career developmen­t and networking was a resounding success as students explored the diverse range of opportunit­ies available to them.

Jane Kapembeza, a final-year university student said attending the Expo was an eye-opening experience.

“The panel discussion­s were incredibly insightful and I learned so much about the industry I’m passionate about.

“I even had the opportunit­y to network with profession­als who provided valuable advice and opened doors for potential internship­s,” said Jane.

Michael Ndlovu, a second-year student at Chinhoyi University, said the Expo helped him to have insight on the recruitmen­t processes of various companies.

“I was thrilled to see such a diverse range of companies present at the expo. I had the chance to speak with representa­tives from my dream company.

“It was an invaluable opportunit­y to make a lasting impression and potentiall­y secure future job prospects,” said Michael.

Makanaka Matsike, a student from Tynwald High School, said students were encouraged to participat­e in skill-building workshops, resume clinics and mock interview sessions to enhance their employabil­ity and boost their confidence on the job market.

“The workshops and resume clinics were immensely helpful in refining my profession­al skills. I received personalis­ed feedback on my resume and gained valuable tips for interview preparatio­n.”
