MAGAYA’S CHITOWN SMART CITY DREAM
PROPHET Walter Magaya has partnered with the Government on a project to transform Chitungwiza and Manyame into a smart city.
Magaya’s Wistmer Investments will undertake projects, including the building of infrastructure, refurbishment of Chibuku Stadium and the development of a masterplan for Chitungwiza and Manyame.
The projects fall under the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency’s private partnership project concept.
Magaya said that it was his mission to “transform lives through the renewal of their mind set to practical things”.
He said they were doing this in response to President Mangagwa’s call for all Zimbabweans to work hard in their various spheres to develop the nation.
“Wistmer Investments has entered into a partnership with the Government itself to transform Chitungwiza and Manyame into a smart city through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“We have already started work at Jonasi Aquifer, which is the same as Nyamandlovu Aquifer outside Bulawayo and Muchekeranwa-Winimbi Passage.
“I am glad that we have finally been granted a chance to raise Chibuku Stadium to a state of the art level enabling it to host our games.
“The creation of the masterplan for Chitungwiza and Manyame costs US$600 000 which I fully donated,” said Magaya.
He said gone are the days when pastors and prophets depend on the pulpit to change people’s lives.
“As a church leader, it is my mission to transform lives through the renewal of their mind set to practical things, not theory.
“The correct interpretation of the word of God is in its application and this is the phase we are taking now.
“It’s part of deliverance. Growing the church is growing the people, and people are the body of Christ as a living church with tangible things.
“President Mnangagwa told us that political independence without economic emancipation is incomplete and called everyone to work hard, and this is what we have started,” he said.
