DECIBEL IS MAMPARA OF THE WEEK

- Showbiz Talking Points with TeeKay

GREETINGS H-Metro readers…

The month of love is almost done and dusted.

In showbiz, memories were created and the internet won’t forget.

Below are some major highlights of the week…

REFORMER OF THE MONTH

Jah Signal easily passed this test with distinction.

Sigi’s move to apologise and engage the Charambas for stealing their lyrics and melodies proved he had professional handlers.

Unlike other arrogant artists, Sigi humbled himself and did the right thing by saying “I’m Sorry”.

We hope he will live up to his words and a repeat of the same act would be a decision, not a mistake.

I now challenge the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) and the National Arts Council (NACZ) to educate our artists on this subject.

INFLUENCER OF THE WEEK

UK-based socialite, Olinda Chapel, might not be a favourite of many but she has a good heart after all.

She answered disabled musician Greatman’s prayer after she purchased an electric wheelchair for him.

Greatman had publicly begged businessman Wicknell Chivayo to buy him one.

MAMPARA OF THE WEEK

Sigi was supposed to take the crown of shame but we dropped him after his public apology.

We now give it to fading and forgotten urban grooves pioneer, Decibel.

He shocked all and sundry when he accused content creators Plot Mhako and NashTV of demanding money to promote his new album. Decibel also surprised many when he blasted the Charambas for their move to report Sigi to YouTube.

And, this coming from an intelligent artist was a shame. Unfortunately, Decibel missed the point in this copyright infringement debate.
