THANK YOU, WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT TIME
TRADITIONALLY, the beginning of the year is a time to take stock of the previous 12 months and also set new goals for the over 300 days that lie ahead.
However, for the Perfection Media team, it is one of our most exciting period, where we realise the fruits of goals that we meticulously set last year.
Perfection Media is a licensed community newspaper that seeks to empower communities through solution-based journalism.
We also host the biggest and most prestigious community awards ceremony in Zimbabwe, the annual Zim Community Trailblazers Awards.
Our board chairperson, Dr Nigel Chanakira, has mentored us on maintaining a strong positive image, supreme self-confidence in our abilities and an attitude of determination to succeed.
This was after we launched the awards virtually four years ago with journalism interns from the University of Zimbabwe and Midlands State University.
With complete self-confidence growing out of a positive self-image we have enjoyed the financial backing that is needed to host these awards.
Our partners at these awards, particularly Christ Embassy Zimbabwe’s Loveworld Multimedia team, represent the faith that people have in us.
We also seek new partners for the venue, prizes and trophies.
Our secret to success is anchored on an idea, a plan as committed individuals with a positive mental attitude that overcomes outside circumstances. One of our success stories is the fourth edition of the Zim Community Trailblazers awards (ZCTA).
This is because we strive to maintain a high standard of integrity that preserves our good name.
The ZCTA recognises and honours Zimbabweans who are making a positive and significant difference in various fields.
The awards are professionally run by an independent board that is led by prominent philanthropist Dr Nigel Chanakira.
Another outstanding director is a prominent medical practitioner Dr Johaness Marisa.
It is no mean feat to have two senior government officials as guests at any awards ceremony.
Special thanks go to the Secretary for Presidential Affairs in the Office of the President, Eng Tafadzwa Muguti and the Minister of Primary and Education Minister, Honourable Torerai Moyo.
It is no easy either for high-profile people headlined by Dr Vivek Solanki, Kenneth Raydon Sharpe, Fayaz Raman and Honourable Themba Mliswa among others to grace the occasion as award winners.
It is next to impossible to draw Zimbabweans from different races and backgrounds to participate in the awards.
Zimbabwean international cricketer Sikandar Raza’s father and brother were also there, so was the affable Lionne Lombard, Daisy Mukariri and triathlon gold medalist Andie Kuipers.
We would like to thank all the people that inspired us and assisted us to make this vision a reality.
A big round of applause must also go to my shepherds − Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Dr Ruth Musarurwa − our directors Drs Chanakira and Johaness Marisa, my wife Pertunia Masaka, our young team of journalists led by our Digital Director, Tariro Masunda.
As you engage with us, we cherish and welcome feedback from you that will help us to know how to make the awards a better product on email zctanominations@gmail. com or cell 0776963414.
