MAGAYA PLANS TO GET KHAMA, MUSONA BACK INTO WARRIORS

- Tadious Manyepo

PROPHET WALTER MAGAYA believes he can convince Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona to reconsider their decisions to quit international football.

He believes Billiat can still play at a very high level and, together with his long-term partner in the Warriors attack, is still needed in the national team.

The Yadah Stars owner watched Billiat, who is set to be unveiled this evening as the club’s latest acquisition, play in a friendly match yesterday. He feels Both Billiat and Musona still can add value to the Warriors.

“Khama is big in terms of his profile, he has a very big name, he played a friendly and I can tell you that he is bad news and this boy knows how to play football,” said Magaya.

“I think even for our national team, he is still good enough to play at that level and I will try to talk to him to reconsider his decision to retire from the Warriors.

“I will also do the same with Knowledge because I don’t think we are ready, as a nation, to lose such talent.

“These guys have the experience we need and let’s see how it will come out.”

He added:

“Look, Khama is only 33. How old is Messi or Christiano Ronaldo? I am not comparing him with those two superstars.

“But, I am saying with the right attitude and focus, there is nothing that can prevent a player from doing well even when they are north of 30 years.

“I know Billiat very well. He still has it in his legs and I am saying he will do very well in the league.

“He has an athletic frame and that’s an advantage on his part. His technical ability is top-notch and that should carry him over in the upcoming season.

“Before we decided to rope him in, we looked at all those factors and we have no doubt that he will do very well for the club.

“We are not going to exert any pressure on him but we know he is a top player. The platform that we have given him will make him excel because we know he is a good player.”
