YADAH LOSE BUT WIN BIG YET AGAIN

- Robson Sharuko Editor

AFTER all the buzz about Khama Billiat, Yadah will be disappointed they started their campaign with a narrow loss at Hwange.

But, even in defeat, they were probably the BIGGEST winners on the opening weekend of the domestic Premiership.

Highlanders fans will disagree with that, especially in the wake of their victory over the old enemy, Dynamos, in Kelvin Kaindu’s homecoming show at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Newboys Arenel Movers will also question this, especially in the wake of their courageous show to hold champions Ngezi Platinum Stars to a goalless draw on Saturday.

Simba Bhora fans will also be forgiven to question that in the wake of their club’s sensational start to the season by beating Manica Diamond 3-2 at Sakubva.

But, for a small club, which survived relegation on the final day of the season last year, Yadah’s investment into professionalism is bringing a breath of fresh air into the domestic Premiership.

Their signing of Billiat triggered a tsunami which was felt throughout the PSL with league chairman, Farai Jere, saying that it had doubled the value of the entity.

This was reflected in the hysterical scenes among the Hwange fans as they scrambled to catch a glimpse of Billiat.

The former Warriors star was forced to leave his seat on the team bus to meet and greet the fans who wanted selfies with him.

Yadah took a flight to fulfill their fixture against the coalminers.

While there is nothing special about that, given that Dynamos regularly flew last year for their assignments in Bulawayo, it’s significant when it’s done by small clubs like Yadah.

And, the Miracle Boys were dressed for the occasion.

Their double-breast suits, and matching shirts, showed that they were men who were on business and while the result didn’t match their aspirations, Yadah won BIG again and were a credit to their league.*
