TOXIC WEEK SOILS LEGEND’S NAME

- Showbiz Talking Points with TeeKay

GREETINGS H-Metro readers.

The second week of March has spoiled our Women’s Month celebrations due to some toxic social media rants we have been seeing.

⚫ TOXIC CELEBS

UK-based socialite and philanthropist Olinda Chapel’s social media rant with businessman Wicknell Chivayo dominated the week.

Olinda accused Chavayo of splashing millions on celebrities’ cars and personal fleets with “stolen money”.

Chivayo hit back at Olinda. Olinda had no right to tell Chivayo how to spend his money and she should provide proof that Wicknell ‘stole money’ or just shut up.

⚫ ENTER MADZIBABA ZAKARIA

Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria is a well-respected sungura guru who should stay away from drama.

He trended after he was filmed at a friend’s garage servicing his old car.

Social media trolls insinuated that he was lobbying Chivayo to give him a new car.

Chivayo had no kind words for Madzibaba.

Madzibaba then issued a statement which appeared to calm down the storm.

Madzibaba said he was only marketing his friend’s garage and not begging for new wheels.

⚫ SOLIDARITY SHOW

Last weekend, the late Bob Nyabinde’s biography was unveiled in Kwekwe.

The book was penned by veteran journalist and researcher, Munyaradzi Huni.

The jazz community remembered him in song and dance in Kwekwe.

This was quite refreshing in a turbulent week.

⚫ MAMPARA OF THE WEEK

The script-writers of Madzibaba Zakaria’s video take away the crown of shame.

By dragging Madzibaba’s name into all this mess, the garage owner takes home the crown of shame.

Happy reading…Till we meet again next week!!!
