FOR KAKA, IS THIS THE GENESIS OF TROUBLE?

- Sports Reporter

JUST a few months ago, Genesis Mangombe was being hailed as the Messiah as Dynamos basked in the glory of winning a first major piece of silverware in a decade.

The youthful coach had guided the Glamour Boys to success in the Chibuku Super Cup with a stylish 2-0 win over league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.

That this was achieved at the home of the champions, Baobab, made this achievement even sweeter and DeMbare fans were hailing the man they call Kaka as the fellow with the Midas Touch.

Everything was looking even brighter for him as he had been drafted into the Warriors coaching department and, only a month ago, he was bring touted as the man who will replace Baltemar Brito.

However, the job was given to Norman Mapeza and Kaka finds himself battling to save his job at the Glamour Boys - just two league games into the campaign.

His DeMbare side have picked just one out of a possible six points and have lost to Highlanders, something which comes at a cost at Dynamos.

His men have been playing the kind of football which is prohibited from being shown on TV screens at hospitals because it’s so boring it could make the patients’ conditions deteriorate.

While it should be laughable that a man, who won a major trophy just four games ago, could find himself battling to save his job, this is what happens at clubs like DeMbare.

But, is Kaka the problem?

A whistleblower at the club doesn’t feel the coach is the problem.

“It’s unfortunate that when results doesn’t come like in these two games, we quickly point to the coach,” the whistleblower wrote.

“The current situation at the club is not healthy for the coach and the team to produce results.*

“You will not believe it but Dynamos doesn’t have a qualified medic as a result of (club owner Bernard) Marriot and his family’s disorder.

“They fired a medic on (rumours) and failed to replace him. Players are getting injured without getting the medical attention they require, as a result Elvis Moyo and Frank Makarati, are missing games. You can ask the players, when they last had a massage.

“Some of the players didn’t get their signing-on

(fees), other staff members didn’t get their league and Chibuku bonuses and no one is eager to address the players and staff.

“A lot of people lost their jobs as a result of makuhwa.”
