AMAD-CHESTER BABY!

Amad has revealed that his Manchester United team-mates came over to him in the dressing room to offer their congratulations after his winner against Liverpool.

The youngster scored a last-gasp goal to send United into the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a dramatic 4-3 victory over their bitter rivals. Unfortunately for the winger, he was sent off in the aftermath of his celebrations for taking his shirt off.

That earned him a second yellow and then red card from referee John Brooks. Amad was forced to trudge down the tunnel to the dressing rooms and missed the celebrations at the final whistle.

But his team-mates ensured he was not totally left out of the wild scenes that swept Old Trafford at the end of the game. Instead, they all came in to congratulate him on his stunning winner.

“What a game. Today I think we deserved this win. We played very good today. One of the best games of the season so I’m very happy. It was an important moment, I think it was the best goal of my career,” he told ITV.

“I don’t believe, but this is football so you need to believe every moment so I’m really happy to score in the last moment. When he gave me the ball I wanted to give it to him again but I think in that moment it was good for me to shoot.

“I forgot the first yellow so I’m really disappointed to get the red card but the most important for me was to get the win. Against a team like Liverpool it was a big moment for me. Everyone came to me and said congratulations and that I deserved it.

“I want to thank everyone, the fans who supported. I forgot my celebration, but the most important for me today was the win.”

United will now face Championship side Coventry City in the semi-finals at Wembley. While boss Erik ten Hag cautioned his side against getting carried away, the Dutchman was happy to celebrate their massive win over the Reds.

“To go to the final we have to win against Coventry, we will have to play at our best. We saw that Coventry have great spirit, a great mentality. We will prepare our best to play in the final,” he said.

“The first 30 minutes was the best of our whole season, we were acting as a team but then we got gaps between the lines and you can’t allow this against one of the best teams in Europe. They outplayed us.

“Then we made changes, we took risks and the players were wonderful. The attitude was great, a strong belief to win this game. Rashford is resilient, he keeps going, normally he finishes those moments but he kept going for another chance.

“That inspired the other players. We have a team that is for the future. Coming up are players who are developing very well like (Amad) Diallo, (Alejandro) Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo.”
