“For all football loving fans, please be safe. Don't drink and drive, we are in the middle of this pandemic. If you don't need to travel, please stay at home, don't travel. Keep practicing the health regulations like social distancing, wearing your mask and sanitising, because we need everyone come back healthy.

PRETORIA — Having secured three wins in his last three games of the year, Christmas came early for SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo, who has sent out a new year’s message to the football lovers in the country.

Consecutive wins against Maritzburg United, Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka FC meant that the Tshwane outfit experienced a near perfect end to the year 2020, leaving them in third place, just three points behind leaders Swallows FC and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Following their match against Baroka FC, which ended in a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza, Tembo took time out to send a new year’s message to the fans.

“For all football loving fans, please be safe. Don’t drink and drive, we are in the middle of this pandemic. If you don’t need to travel, please stay at home, don’t travel. Keep practicing the health regulations like social distancing, wearing your mask and sanitising, because we need everyone come back healthy.

“Although there are no fans in the stadiums, we can only have fans back if we conquer this pandemic and we can only do that if we observe the regulations put out by government, but nevertheless, be safe, enjoy your holidays,” Tembo concluded.

SuperSport will next be in action when they take on struggling Chippa United on January 6, 2021.
