IN response to COVID-19 fears in prisons, JOSPHAT MOYO says: It is unfortunate that people in prison have been neglected for a long time probably because our leadership does not even care about them. With the way our prisons are congested, it will not be a surprise if all the prisoners are wiped out. In these scary times, we only hope for God’s intervention otherwise all of them will perish because there are no hospitals to talk about.

IN response to Nurses call off strike, SIYAI MUTSA says: It is pathetic that the health sector goes on strike, leaving so many innocent people’s lives in danger or even at the risk of dying. We hope the Zanu PF-led government will put its house in order so that our health sector will move out of the intensive care unit.

IN response to Police, army restore sanity in Beitbridge, ROBERT HOKO says: Under the Zimbabwean context, we all agree that police and the army only restore order by beating up people. This is what we have come to understand. We feel sorry for people who were caught in the midst of this disorder.

IN response to Errant police

warned, GODKNOWS SHOROMA says: It is sad that the Zimbabwe Republic Police is operating like a mafia organisation whereby breaking the law has been the order of the day. Many people have suffered at the hands of the police as they are now known for soliciting for bribes and perpetrating gross human rights abuses. Police officers are also known for smashing commuter omnibus windows. It is in every Zimbabwean’s right to be protected by a disciplined police organisation which respects human rights, is corrupt free and nonpartisan.

IN response to Military chopper rescues marooned Chiredzi families, DADIRAI says: For once, the members of the Zimbabwe National Army have shown that they can be important in the day-to-day lives of the ordinary people. Since the coming in of the so-called new dispensation we have seen State security agents being at the forefront of gross human rights abuses. Kudos to the army and its leaders for dispatching a military chopper to rescue marooned villagers. At least this helps clean the image of the military.
