No electoral reforms, no elections
I WOULD like to dwell on a cocktail of strategic aspects of our struggle in the quest to build the Zimbabwe we all want.
We need a government that treats Zimbabweans equally regardless of their political affiliations as opposed to the status quo.
Forty-one years in power, and nothing tangible has been achieved but the government still wants to continue despite that people have had enough. Government should not perennially be in election mode because there will be no time to develop the country which is the reason why it was given the mandate to preside over the country. People want development for the good of the nation and future generations. Hence the need for political reforms to ensure free and fair elections, which hopefully will usher in a real new dispensation with the zeal to improve the lot of the people of this country who have been deliberately impoverished by greedy politicians.
Experience has taught Zimbabweans to stop dreaming and be realistic.
No democracy can be attained in this country without having had an overhaul of the electoral system.
Mnangagwa made it clear from the outset that he was bent on creating a one-party State.
Now he is executing his plan through annihilating the Nelson Chamis-led MDC Alliance using proxies such as MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora.
We need to align legislation to do with the running of elections with the Constitution if we are to produce credible results.
We should not worry about rigging, a coalesced opposition will win overwhelmingly because it will be having the numbers which defy rigging even at its best.
