Open letter to Chamisa

- Linda Tsungirirai Masarira

YDear Nelson Chamisa OU have disappointed the whole Moyo clan. Moyo people do not quit no matter how hard things are? They do not quit because they are facing challenges. Moyo people were born leaders.

Leaders do not easily run from a difficult situation. If they commit to doing something, they make sure they accomplish it. They are answerable if they commit themselves, no matter what happens in life or what circumstances they face in life.

How a leader stands the test of time is the only definitive validation of ability and accomplishment.

Leaders show consistency, demonstrate endurance, and stay the course. They never quit. At times, leaders may change the course by altering strategies, tactics, or methodologies, but they do not quit. Strip away the excuses, rationalisations, and justifications, and the only thing standing between you and the attainment of your objectives is what you see staring back at you when you look in the mirror each morning.

Quitting is one of the easiest things to do in life. If you take your eye off the ball, even if only momentarily, that is all it takes for most people to throw in the towel is a tinge of anger, humiliation, panic, rejection, stress, frustration, hurt, pain, sorrow or anguish.

Successful leaders do not quit until the job is done. They do not spend time complaining about the challenges and obstacles. Rather, they spend their time solving problems and creating solutions. What you have done here is a clear reflection of your egocentric nature with no regard whatsoever about the people around you.

Did you consider your members of Parliament, councillors, and supporters whom you kept at bay with false hope of Southern African Development Community interventions and fresh elections? Why have you thrown your MPs and councillors under the bus? Are you punishing them for refusing to totally disengage from parliament? All those excuses in your statement are not reason enough to quit considering that we have Bobi Wine, who has endured a lot of attacks and has been staying with military parked out of his residential home, but has never quit.

After creating a social media battalion to insult me, ridicule me, and shame me, for saying some brutal truths about you, quitting never crossed my mind as an option.

In conclusion, thank you for finally vindicating me. Once again, I implore you to concentrate on being a pastor and your calling to lead a nation to the kingdom of God. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
