Netball league holds AGM

- BY MAGRETH RUZVIDZO

THE Premier Netball League (PNL) will hold its elective annual general meeting (AGM) tomorrow in Harare to choose new leadership to guide the organisation in the next few years. The last AGM was held in December 2022 when the outgoing committee was given the mandate to run the league’s affairs.

PNL was officially launched in September 2021. Since then, the league has experienced some growth. Zvishavane-based side Platinum Queens have managed to extend their dominance in the league by clinching all the league titles since the birth of the league.

In a statement yesterday, PNL said tomorrow’s meeting set for Belgravia Sports Club is key as it brings all stakeholders under one roof to discuss strategies to move the league forward.

“This crucial event marks the significant milestone in the league's history as stakeholders convene to elect new leadership and discuss key strategies for the future. The event is also expected to play a pivotal role in shaping up the league’s trajectory. The meeting will bring together representatives from various clubs and officials to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing the overall netball experience,” PNL said.

“The AGM will also provide a platform to review the league’s performance over the past year, discuss potential improvements and address any challenges faced. This reflective approach is crucial in maintaining the league’s commitment to excellence and growth.”

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Netball Association will tomorrow host the under-21 trials and selection at Girls High School in the capital in preparation for the Regional World Netball Youth Cup in South Africa next month.
