Displacement of people, Zanu PF’s retribution

- Farai Nherera

THROUGH your lovely daily edition, I would like to express my views regarding the purported land reversal deals. I believe we all know how Zanu PF engineered the chaotic land reform process in 2000 in apparent panic when the MDC rose to fame. All efforts to condemn the madness fell on deaf ears.

Today, we witness the worst social dilapidation which sprang from the proliferation of Zanu PF instigated land grabs. We take, for instance, Hopley, Stoneridge and Domboshava.

It was good as long as it was being done by Zanu PF. Honestly, sabhuku deals were better than what Zanu PF blessed. From this perspective, if we study the violent history of the party we will note that in 1980 at independence United African National Council supporters lost their homes in urban areas thanks to Zanu PF violence.

Zimbabwe Unity Movement supporters also endured violence at the hands of Zanu PF, MDC and now CCC opposition supporters are going through the same ordeal.

Surely, Zimbabwe is being led by infidels. How can an honourable minister proclaim that Zimbabwe belongs to one man. This is pure abuse of authority. A people elected regime has people at heart. In my view, Zanu PF’s actions are clear testimony that the party lost the last elections.

Impliedly, Zimbabweans are being told that there is no room for freedom of choice which translates to outright dictatorship.

Why in the first place does the country waste resources holding elections whose outcome is never respected and brings trouble to those holding different views?

I want to salute Nelson Chamisa for exposing child play (mahumbwe) that Zimbabweans are being subjected to. There is no qualification for presidency. Anyone can lead the nation. Those holding opposing views are better advised to stay out of its tyrannical way or risk retribution. This is the danger warning sign that I post today.
