Zanu PF has dismally failed

-

THE Zanu PF-led government has failed the masses. All hope is now lost. The majority of the people are finding it very difficult to eke out a living. We should revert Zimbabwe to its factory settings before the coming of this bogus so-called new republic.

We have only seen President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Chinese friends and close allies enjoying the fruits of this country. Mnangagwa is moving around with Wicknell Chivayo dishing out cars and donations like confetti to Zanu PF activists and musicians.

As they dish out cars there is no talk of sanctions when millions of US dollars are splashed. We do not even have a car assembly plant and the costs of buying cars and shipping them are so high.

When the public demands basic things like ambulances, clean water, jobs and medical equipment the government quickly blames sanctions. The resources of the country are only enjoyed by a few individuals who are politically connected.

With inflation soaring to a staggering 1 500%, according to independent economists, Zimbabwe is really in dire straits. Mnangagwa on Wednesday declared Zimbabwe’s drought a national disaster saying it is in need of US$2 billion in aid to feed millions facing hunger.

Two months ago, Mnangagwa said no one would die of hunger because our silos were full, adding that Zimbabwe had enough food to feed the nation.

Zimbabwe under Mnangagwa has become a laughing stock in the region. He is now asking for donations yet he said no one will die of hunger because we have adequate reserves.

This year Zimbabweans will require urgent humanitarian food aid, despite the country’s abundant mineral resources.

The country cannot continue under such an environment or else we are going to hit rock bottom.

The current regime will never gain the trust of the people. On Friday the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe launched a structured currency without addressing the fundamental issues; is this not a waste of resources and time?

Zimbabwe can continue launching different currencies, but this will not solve the problem. We can even get a Finance minister or reserve bank governor from Mars, still our economy will remain in the doldrums.

It is not about changing currency that will see the economy grow, but it is about addressing the fundamental issues. We need a complete overhaul of the whole system.
