Sakubva Hospital needs facelift

-

Dear Sir Wicknell Chivayo

IKINDLY request your goodwill gesture to be extended to Sakubva Hospital which needs at least US$80 000 for its upliftment.

May you be blessed so much and I know I don’t have a name, but our hospital needs us. Sakubva District Hospital and the eye unit are not fit to be referral hospitals, they are death traps.

The linen for the maternity ward is a disgrace, no one of this era would buy or accept the blankets as gifts.

I personally experienced sad moments when I took my wife to the hospital, there is not even paracetamol and the pharmacy is just empty with no medication. Mothers who are on national duty fail to access Indocid, panadene po tds, betadine solution, syringes, among other medicine, it is a disgrace.

It is almost 44 years after independence, but we are failing to cater for maternal healthcare. It is my prayer that our government views health as a priority, no matter what, because we all fall sick one way or the other. Casting a blind eye does not help, a good government is measured by its healthcare system.

Let non-governmental organisations (NGOs) which are able, come together and make a donation. I call upon NGOs operating in Manicaland province to take it upon themselves to donate medical equipment, medication and blankets because prayers alone will not take us to the next level.

It is necessary to fight government at times when there is a need especially about the things it is ignoring.

The hospital is proud to have competent personnel, but without resources their efforts will go down the drain.
