Platinum ease past Triangle

- Paul Mundandi in Zvishavane

FC Platinum……… (1)2 Triangle………………0 FC Platinum got back to their winning ways in style when they sent Triangle to the cleaners in a one sided Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Mandava Stadium yesterday.

Rodwell Chinyengetere’s strike in the third minute and a killer punch by Ishmael Wadi in the 90th minute was enough to give Norman Mapeza a smile that had eluded him when he played ZPC Kariba.

Ian Nekati who is at home on the right won the ball and charged towards the Triangle goal. He then passed the ball to defender Elvis Moyo who sent an inch perfect pass to Chinyengetere. The former Hwange skipper sent a shot that caught Tapiwa Chilenga off guard and the best he did was collect the ball from the nets.

Super substitute Wadi then killed the match as a contest when he reacted to a long pass from his captain Petros Mhari. The ball was flicked by Chinyengetere to the striker who made no mistake from close range.

Triangle did their best to come to the party but they found the FC Platinum defence unyielding and they were not given a chance in the entire match to shoot at goal.

“We did not play very well today. I am disappointed because in our last league match we lost points and this afternoon I wanted maximum points as well”, said Triangle coach

David “Yogi”Mandigora. His counterpart Mapeza was excited. “They were very busy (Triangle) this afternoon. Defensively we did well but I am happy that we managed to get maximum points. I knew that they would come to us in the second half.

“We need to collect points this first half of the season. I am happy that the new signings scored and that is the reason why they are here,” said Mapeza.
