view that a real gentleman drives a big car with a big engine. Smaller cars are somehow associated with femininity. I never imagined a small car with swag until the Stylin’ Auto guys invited me to have a look at their endlessly flawless ’05 Toyota Vitz — I’ve got two words for it — Endless flawlessness!

I like this car, from the moment I saw it I liked it. The pearl blue four-stage metallic paint has an opal stone effect that is so hard to resist. Its silky satin smooth, I swear this Guy has got magic hands. The right amount of detail on any car makes it stand out, not too little and not too much — and just the right amount of detail went into this vitz. What caught my eye is the black detail — it’s not everyday that you find a Vitz with 17 inches of GT2 Momo wheels. It kind of brings home that Italian racing tradition and experience that you find on racing cars. The black detail on the car is quite amazing. It looks so simple yet it ices the cake effortlessly. Tail lights have a light tint, just the right amount to blend with the ultra light dark tint on the windows. The wheels look like a bonus but it all brings the shine to the bling.

The power-plant is pretty much stock. It’s running a 1NZ-FE motor. Its quick and nippy, its just what you need for the traffic jams that currently characterise our rush hour traffic. It only weighs a few kilograms under a tonne, its lightweight and the engine does not struggle so much with acceleration.

Quite a good investment went into the audio system and it was tuned right — no noise, no unnecessary banging the boot — just the right note — crisp clear, it just hits the spot. Upfront all the magic is processed by a Double Din Sony Head unit. The punch and power is distributed to the mid range splits and a 12inch DVC subwoofer by a Rockford fosgate amplifier — Perfect workmanship — call it Dazza Magic!

Few people know how to turn simple into amazing. Call him a make-up artist or plastic surgeon — he is Darren Pragji — the man behind the Stylin Auto brand. I would like to think he’s a magician — he tricks up all kinds of wheels with unmatchable refinement. I enjoyed my time with the Vitz. It’s quite a head turner. If I had to choose a small car. I would choose it to be styled like so. Good fuel consumption, good looks — I definitely want to do the ballin’ on a budget.
