- Rumbidzai Mbewe Sunday Life Correspondent

IT is every girl’s dream to wake up in the morning, take a shower and go out for shopping the whole day. Shopping might not be exciting to the male species but for the women it does a lot of magic as it can work assome form of therapy.

Itai Mutinhiri, a former model who is now a Star Fm presenter and a news reader, is one woman who has style and obviously that comes with a lot of shopping. The news reader told Sunday Life that she was a shopaholic but she is in the process of nursing her addiction.

“I am nursing my shopping addiction right now, not an easy one if you ask me. If I could, I would buy all the fashion that catches my eye in this world,” she said.

Before venturing in the media industry, Itai participated in different beauty pageants in the country and she was crowned Miss body of Trends at Miss Trends and was the first runner up at Miss Summer Strides in Harare. She said modelling back then was no joke at all and she is glad that she was a part of them.

“All these shows and the much smaller ones have helped me boost my confidence in this industry. I am much bigger now body wise so photographic modelling for advertisements will be more ideal for me at this particular juncture. I don’t hesitate to take those offers,” she said.

Itai said one thing the radio station has done for her was allowing her to explore her talents. She said she enjoys every working moment there and the team she works with is fantastic.

“Having bosses that will allow you to try out entertainment from the serious nature of news is quite amazing, that’s super awesome. I can’t believe we are turning four this month, it kind of feels like we only started the station a year ago and I can safely say that I am living my dream right now,” she said.

The move from reading news to presenting her own show called Startainment was not a big change for her as she has been doing red carpet interviews. She said the biggest move for her was doing the MTV Awards red carpet interviews in Durban.

“Having to interview big names in the entertainment industry including Bonang Matheba, Casper Nyovest, Ricky Rock, I knew then that crossing over would be a walk in the park. Some of my bosses saw potential in me before so that was kind of a confidence booster as well which gave birth to the Startainment show,” she said.

Besides radio, the travelling and people live in said family is to her so she despite her beautiful Itai likes learning how other different countries. She very much important makes time for them busy schedule.
