Matanga needs help

-

WE WOULD like to thank everyone who helped on the upgrading of MberengwaMusume road which was now a death trap.

We have long been complaining that when it comes to poor road network Mberengwa was leading while others follow.

I thank the Rural District Council for that but Mnene Mawani Mpandashongo road was not touched. To the District authorities I say it’s not yet over because that road which passes through Mawani school to Matanga Growth Point via Mpandashango is so bad that buses have already stopped using it, leaving thousands of travellers without any means of transport.

Villagers from Mawani are still walking very long distances to catch early morning buses at Madhoro Farm or at Mnene Hospital, something we used to do way back before independence.

People are reportedly dying in scotch carts on their way to Mnene Mission Hospital which is too far. I still remember Vice-President Mnangagwa saying the situation at MawaniMusume Road was bad and it needs attention but up to now nothing has been done on this road which was last attended to about 15 years ago by the late P Hall of Shu-Shine Bus Services.

Now villagers are suffering and I am appealing to the Mberengwa DDF and Member of Parliament for the area to rescue these villagers from the bad way of living they are subjected to. They have suffered for a long time now. Eddious Masundire Shumba, Bulawayo.
