Mrs Universe Zim — Pageant with a difference

- Rumbidzai Mbewe Sunday Life Correspondent

IF you are a woman above 25 and married, divorced or widowed and always wished to be part of a beauty pageant, now is the opportunity for you to strut your stuff down the ramp. Mrs Universe Zimbabwe is a pageant for women who are visionary, bold, beautiful and willing to be the voice of the people.

The founder of the pageant, Traceyanne Buckley Aggett, said the pageant was an international pageant just like Miss Universe. The only difference was that it was for married or family women who desire to make a difference.

“We are looking for forward thinkers that come up with solutions to help communities and organisations. We are looking at women who can balance life from family, work and charity,” she said.

She said she will be launching and opening up Mrs Universe Zimbabwe in the country at a date to be announced. She will be touring Bulawayo and Harare this month, where she will be running a campaign to support children who are affected by domestic violence.

“I am running a campaign which is all about blue and having people dress up in blue to show support for the children who are affected by domestic violence. We often forget that children are our next generation and they need guidance and love to carry the nations forward,’ she said.

The year 2104 was the turning point for Tracey-anne, God became the leader and strength of her life. She said losing her daughter was a gift from God as it gave her the heart to love all children who are in need.

“I encountered many health complications after this where I almost lost my life again. I felt the pain of every woman and person who endures long hours of blood tests and not just feeling yourself. I overcame this and today I am healthy and my marriage is stronger than ever,” she said.
