Buka, Nhema to bounce back
SUSPENDED Zanu-PF members and former Ministers Cde Flora Buka and Francis Nhema are set to bounce back after the National Disciplinary Committee requested the Midlands Province to give a report back on the two members’ conduct after their suspension which will contribute to the review verdict.
Zanu-PF Midlands spokesperson Cde Conrelius Mpereri said the National Disciplinary Committee sought to review the suspension of the two members after they did not desert the party regardless of their suspension even after being accused of being aligned to former Vice-President Joice Mujuru.
Cde Mpereri said the province was still looking at their cases and will first inform members of the Politburo in the province before making recommendations to the National Disciplinary Committee.
“We held our monthly Provincial Executive Meeting followed by a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting. We have been requested by the National Disciplinary Committee to assess the conduct of Cdes Buka and Nhema who were on suspension following their association with the Gamatox cabal led by former Vice-President Mujuru which sought to topple President Mugabe prematurely. They want to know if they are still problematic to the party before reviewing their suspension,” he said.
Cde Mpereri said they have since asked the administrative districts to give a report on the conduct of the two.
Cdes Nhema and Buka were suspended in 2014 after they were fingered as part of the group that was led by Cde Mujuru that sought to usurp power from President Mugabe unconstitutionally.
Dr Mujuru was subsequently expelled together with other senior party members while some were suspended after it was established that their involvement was mild.
