Prominent businessma­n Senda dies

PROMINENT Insiza businessma­n Alson Senda has died.

He was 54. Senda who is also the founder of Senda Motorways died suddenly at his homestead in Filabusi, Matabelela­nd South on Friday.

Family spokespers­on and brother of the businessma­n, Mr Cain Senda said they had lost a brother, a pillar, advisor and bread winner to the family and to the society as a whole.

“My younger brother was a caring man. He supported the family and also society through his business units which include grocery shop, furniture shop and a milling company. People looked up to him in times of crisis and he would support them wholeheart­edly,” said Mr Senda.

“His death has robbed us of our pillar and advisor. He was my younger brother but his advices were always spot on and carried most of the family duties without hesitating. Tears cannot even express our loss.”

Ms Sithabisil­e Senda, the first born of the businessma­n described her father as a hero who stood by the family side in both good and bad times.

“He was a loving father, who catered for all our needs, he provided for the community during difficult times, he was our hero and he has left a huge gap in our lives,” she said.

The family said burial arrangemen­ts are still to be finalised.

“We are waiting for a post-mortem and then from there we will give out further details about the burial,” said Mr Senda.

Mourners are gathered at Number 31122 in Entumbane, Bulawayo. Senda is survived by wife Mary Maphosa-Senda and 12 children (three sons and nine daughters).
