Cheat found under bed, claims to be carpenter

A MAN from Gwabalanda in Bulawayo is battling for life at Mpilo Central Hospital after he was brutally attacked by a neighbour who allegedly found him hiding under his matrimonial bed.

Before he was attacked, the 22-year-old man, Tatenda Madzivanyika is alleged to have told Mr Mandlenkosi Ndlovu that he was repairing the bed on the instruction of Mrs Ndlovu, Mandlenkosi’s wife.

However, neighbours told Sunday News, that Mrs Ndlovu bolted when her husband stormed into the room leaving her “worker” under the bed. The incident happened yesterday at 4344 Gwabalanda. Madzivanyika stays a stone’s throw away at Number 4309 in the same suburb. Neighbours said when Mr Ndlovu arrived home, he found the door locked but suspected his wife was inside. After knocking for some time he took his tool box which was in another room and tried to open the door. “That is when the wife opened the door and ran away. We do not know where she went. Mr Ndlovu went in and found Tatenda under the bed. When he was asked what he was doing, he said he was repairing the bed. Mr Ndlovu did not buy the story and he took a metal bar which was in the tool box and started attacking Tatenda,” said a neighbour who refused to be named. Another neighbour claimed they have always seen Tatenda and Mrs Ndlovu together and thought they were just neighbours visiting each other. The neighbours alleged that Ndlovu’s wife ran away when the two men started fighting and Madzivanyika was taken to hospital. Mr Ndlovu could not be reached for comment as he was said to have gone to the police while his wife’s whereabouts were unknown.
