Trust Academy High School — Get it Right in 2017

-

THE jacarandas have been blooming for a while now, and public examinations are almost half-way through. The school year is almost over. This is the right time for all of us to start planning for next year.

History Trust Academy High School has developed a new emphasis for 2017. In 2016 our emphasis has been on the curriculum. We have shared with you the subjects that we offer for learners at Trust Academy High School. We are all aware by now that Trust Academy High School offers a wide, modern curriculum, which includes subjects like Law, ICT and Computers. Our thrust is still on your success and it is with that in mind that we have redefined the process.

Re-defining the playing field Going into 2107, Trust Academy High School is redefining the playing field. Trust Academy has two programmes that run concurrently. There is the formal high school where learners wear uniforms. Then the non-formal high school, where the students do not wear a uniform. Here is how you should decide which school you should join.

Formal High School In the formal high school, going into 2017, Trust Academy is enrolling a Form 1 class. Grade 7 results are not yet out but you could walk into our offices and register your child for Form 1 for 2017. Registration is free. Your child will be able to enjoy this pioneering spirit and opportunity as the first Form Ones at Trust Academy. Our wide and ultra-modern curriculum is well-known. We offer on average eight subjects for Forms 1 to 4. So parents, seize this opportunity to register your child for Form 1 2017 for free. Once they have registered, we guarantee continuity. Your child will be with us for up to six years. It could be more if they opt to take up professional courses. For our Form Ones computer studies are compulsory. By the time they get to O-level each learner must have a full ICDL certificate.

Lab and Library Learners at Trust Academy High School will also be able to enjoy, among other things; a new Science Lab and a new and well-resourced library, which is complemented by free Wi-Fi. The school has also established a wide range of co-curricular activities. Standing out among these are life-skills such as Guidance and Counselling, First Aid, Career Guidance, Scripture Union, Business and Entrepreneurship and Sports.

School Culture The school is also developing and implementing a futuristic school culture which will guarantee that Trust Academy graduates fit smoothly into the world after school. Our graduates should be able to gel into the post-school life through skills acquired, the pursuit of new skills and visions, networking and synergies, general and specific conduct, deportment, public conduct, ambition and drive. We are emphasising discipline and responsible citizenship. This new culture stimulates the person within, and purports to bring out the best in each child. Our students should be able to attain their highest potential as individuals, be it in the classroom, on the sports field or incultural clubs.

Pay Us a Visit Another dimension to Trust Academy is that we are challenging parents and guardians to pay us a visit. Do not make an appointment — just pop in; whether you have a child with us or not. Trust Academy operates an open-door policy and staff and admin are readily accessible. Come in to familiarise yourself with the school and its environs and also to engage staff. We think that parents’ involvement is critical for the well-being and good performance of their children and also the growth of the school.

Please, do not take our word for it; pay us a visit any time.

Non-Formal Parallel Programme Trust Academy High School also has the non-formal high school. This caters for varied demographics of students; from O-level to A-level. Our students’ body is made up of people who are re-sitting their exams and those who are sitting exams for the first time. Students can choose to study from one to eight subjects for O-level and one to three or four subjects at A-level.

The ages of these students differ too. We cater for straight-from-school students, those who have been out of the formal system for a while and those who are employed or raising families and would want to continue with their education.

Flexi-time

Trust Academy High School’s unique product for the non-formal school is the flexible timetable. Our flexible timetable is a facility that is meant to appeal to people in different circumstances. That is why we are saying one-size-does-not-fit-all. We offer day, evening and weekend classes.

One-On-One Tutorials Another unique product that we deliver is the one-on-one tutorial. Where learners have special needs, we are prepared to offer specialised tutorials. Learners make special arrangements with their tutors and they are offered one-onone tutorials. Students at Trust Academy can also benefit from the ICT and Business and Secretarial Schools that are part of the Trust Academy family.

Tests and Report Cards Trust Academy non-formal high school is not one of those lackadaisical centres where students and teachers adopt a laissez-faire approach; where students may or may not attend classes and it is “business as usual”, as long as fees have been paid. NO!! We are results oriented. The non-formal students must work hard, sit for exams and leave. That is what we mean by acceleration. Students must feel and see that they are making progress through regular exercises, tests and report cards. Stakeholders should also be able to assess the progress of their wards and spouses. We do not want to keep students here forever and milk them of their hard-earned cash. We want to deal with the non-formal students in a professional, honest and mutually beneficial way.

On-Going Registration In the non-formal high school, registration is on-going. We have left control of the learning process in the hands of the learner. A student can register to study towards the June or November exam sessions at their discretion. The choice is entirely up to the learner. We will obviously give professional advice once the student has registered. Register Now Do not waste time dreaming about what might have been. Come register with us now.

TrustAcademy High School has reviewed the playing field to ensure quality and affordability, accessibility and acceleration.
