Cinderella or apprentice witch?

-

UNLIKE the fairytale story of Cinderella, which has a happy ending, this one is quite different.

Cinderella is the story of jealousy, virtues and sufferings of Cinderella and hostility of her older sisters. The fairytale about Cinderella has won many generations and everyone who believes that a humiliated being will rise and win and also that beauty and virtue not only have to be rewarded but also recognised.

Cinderella is a fairytale about how big forgiveness can be and because of it Cinderella will forgive her sister for everything. At the end when justice has been served Cinderella wasn’t looking for revenge, and that is the greatness of her.

However, in a rather bizarre case of suspected witchcraft that has left residents of Nketa suburb in Bulawayo living in fear, a 16-year-old girl was found half naked carrying needles, wrapped in a carpet at a church in the suburb.

According to rumours doing the rounds, the girl is said to have been on a witchcraft expedition when she was “knocked off her broom and fell from the sky” by a mysterious fire that illuminated from the church.

“When we found her in the morning, she told us that she was passing through on her way to Cowdray Park from Emganwini to bewitch her aunt when a huge flame from the church knocked her out of the sky, engulfed her and brought her into our church,” said a rumour monger from the suburb.

Sunday Buzz was told that the pastor of the church had to be called in to somewhat interrogate the girl and perhaps pray for her as well. The girl is said to have told people from the suburb and the pastor that her name was Cinderella.

When she was found it is said that she was wrapped in a red carpet that belongs to the church. She is said to have also told people from the church that eight demons possessed her and were directly answerable to Satan. Rumour has it that she was initiated by her relatives.

Quite the creepy rumour!
