To the Editor Viva Command Agriculture

-

THROUGH your widely read newspaper may you allow me space to say my mind and observation. Since 1980 when we attained independence our Government through various ministries did a lot in trying to boost the economy but what happened and was introduced in 2016 left everyone surprised.

Command Agriculture! Who is the founder of this resounding programme? This has to go with no challenge because it is seen and enjoyed across the country. The Command Agriculture can return us to our position in Sadc as the bread basket of Africa in terms of maize production. As Zimbabweans lets have the behaviour of congratulating somebody if he/she did something good. On behalf of the Zimbabwean citizens may my voice be heard as I say “A Noble Idea from a vigilant leader” to the one who came up with this idea. Again may everybody come up and copy what the one who introduced the programme has done.

If there can be any Zimbabwean who can be against this programme may you please tell that person to visit areas like Chinhoyi, Banket and Mazowe and even Kezi in Matabeleland South and see what is on the ground. This is what can revive our economy and we are assured of no more maize imports which used to take the biggest percentage of our bill of importation.

Also I would like to say hats off to the supervisory team of Command Agriculture for making some physical supervision. May you please keep up the hard work you are doing for the nation. We say to you; you are the stars of this nation.

May I also have the space to thank the President for rubber stamping the programme when presented to his office for implementation. This shows that as Zimbabweans we have the mindset to work with the President to build our nation. Viva Command Agriculture.
