Suicide incidences very worrying

-

ALTHOUGH a lot has been said about people who commit suicide it is very sad to note that the number of suicide cases has continued to rise in almost all parts of our independent country.

This is a free country where everyone should feel free to look for assistance from fellow Zimbabweans if one has got a problem so that people can come to their rescue.

There is no single week which can pass before we hear or read sad stories about people who take their own lives. We must not forget that life is a God given gift so we must respect it. God never said people must kill themselves if they find themselves in difficult problems but we have to seek first the kingdom of God and every worry or every problem will come to pass.

Recently the nation was left with no word in their mouth to hear about a death where a prominent figure decided to take his own life by throwing himself from one of the tallest buildings in Harare. This came at a time when another man had also done the same thing by jumping from a tower light in Bulawayo’s Luveve Gwabalanda surbub.

We may have some challenges in our lives but committing suicide is not the solution. People kill themselves for various reasons but it is never a decision anyone should make, nomatter how bad things may be looking. You cannot commit suicide only because you have been dumped by your wife or girlfriend. Some have in the past killed themselves after being informed that their husbands or wives want to leave them. To my surprise some politicians who are supposed to lead by example are also found on the wrong side of our culture by drinking poisonous chemicals after losing in crucial elections or falling out of favour with people.

These people have to be reminded that you can fail or lose today but tomorrow you may come out victorious. Also you will not go to Heaven since God is not happy with people who kill themselves. I urge my fellow Zimbabweans to seek advice or counselling services instead of committing suicide as that is not the solution to all problems one may have.
