Heal the World project set for launch

A NON-GOVERNMENT organisation, Brahma Kumaris has embarked on a national programme called Heal the World, aimed at enhancing the well-being and quality of life of people as a way of commemorating International Peace Day.

Brahma Kumaris is a non-profit making organisation, a spiritual movement dedicated to personal transformation and world reformation.

The project will be held from 24 June 2017 to 21 September 2017.

In an interview, Brahma Kumaris public relations officer, Ms Rashmi Patel said the unique programme will be launched to coincide with International Yoga Day.

“This date is chosen in order to collaborate with and support International Yoga Day. In unity there is victory. The programme is designed to re-instate original virtues of the soul in each individual and through this to establish a culture of universal recognisable values rather than values that are man-made on the basis of culture, politics, society and beliefs.

“We recognise that worldwide there is a hostile environment and that up until now all our practices have been ineffective in transforming this world. Science recognises that it is necessary to counteract the process of decay and decline in a process known as negentropy, ”she said.

The public relations officer added: “This means we need to connect with something outside our known physical realm that is God, Allah, Shiva, the Supreme Soul. In other words we need to connect with the being that is eternally pure, powerful, peaceful, loving, happy, the embodiment of virtues and beyond the effect of action. When we tune into this we can change ourselves and change the world.”

Ms Patel said apart from offering many free courses to facilitate collaboration in Heal the World Brahma Kumaris will also host an event on International Peace Day on 21 September, and be involved in an art Exhibition at the National Gallery in Bulawayo entitled Heal the World Spiritual Resonance.

Brahma Kumaris commenced their contribution to the world in 1937.

It is internationally recognised, sharing a vision which enables the attainment of awareness and experience of one’s inherent dignity and divinity.
