RIPPED from beach umbrellas, weathered lounge chairs, one of the season’s major stripe trends fits right in for the upcoming summer. The stripes and colours you are most likely to see on the beach are to be worn on the streets now.

It would seem that every designer figured out how to make the utilitarian material work — from the ones who create pieces for ladies who lunch to the designers who are redefining street wear. The military slash safari look has been trending for a while now. Khakhi isn’t just for the wildlife guys anymore, you need to get yourself atleast two pieces of khakhi something.

50 SHADES OF YELLOW

Thought you couldn’t wear the cheery shade? Well, think again. This season there’s an option out there for everyone, no matter your skin tone. Yellow is the new black. No one said it has to be a bright shade of yellow that screams “look at me now”, you can rock a subtle shade of yellow.

Fashion’s obsession with shoulders rages on, manifesting itself in strategically placed cutouts for maximum impact. The cutout shoulder and the cold shoulder are still huge on the runway and for those who are fashion crazy. It’s a great chic style for summer.

Flared sleeves were all the rage last year, but now it’s all about the slit. Might we suggest upping your bangle and bracelet game to play off of the fresh silhouette. This look is a definite must and sophisticated feel. have, it gives you an edgy

Interesting waistlines and unexpected hemlines add oomph to simple white shirt dresses. Pick up a bunch of these to add to your white collection in your closet.

Surprised to see waist training makes its stylish debut on the runway? Waist trainers have been making waves on social media, everybody trying to get that tiny waist. But the thing with waist trainers you can’t wear it all the time so the designers figured WAIST CINCHER TREND. It will be a while till the rest of us rock this trend. It’s a risqué one.

Boring waistlines have been banished for the season in favour of sharp fold over options. You won’t be able to wear belts with these, though, so make sure you’ve got the best tailor on hand, just in case.

THE NEW TRENCH COAT

Slouchy fabrics, big buckles, and extended silhouettes take your run of the mill trench coat from meh to major. If you are not about the trench coat life and don’t feel like getting dressed in the morning toss on a fancy robe, the pyjama trend is still ongoing, well at least in fashion developed countries.

Try something new once in a while, that way you will know what works for you and what doesn’t. The slit sleeve should be on your shopping list and if you are daring we will definitely see you in either foldover waist pants or a waist cincher.
