Understand biblical principles of money: Seek God

-

Christians’ wealth creation

Itai Chipunza MATHEW 6 VERSE 33 “SEEK the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously and all these things will be given to you as well.” God says He created you in His image and likeness. Genesis 1 verse 27 “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them, male and female He created them.”

With that in mind, who can provide for all your needs better than your Creator? He knows exactly what you desire in your heart and He is on standby waiting to provide each and everything. He said it himself that He will provide everything. Psalms 37 verse 4 “Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Everything in the world is built on a reward system. If you do something, something happens as reaction to that. Science says everything has an equal and opposite reaction. The condition to Him adding to you all the desires of your heart is simple to understand, LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY, living by His rules and regulations.

Although it’s a fairly simple instruction, it is an impossible one without his help. That is why God has assigned the Holy Spirit with a very special task. To remind you of God’s laws so that you live righteously and God adds to you even more. One spirit, but different manifestations around the world, he has come to help us. John 14 verse 26 “But the comforter (counsellor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, standby) the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and cause you to recall everything I have told you.”

We must understand that it is possible to earn a very good sum of money to buy all your heart’s desires but still not feel satisfied by it. You can only feel satisfied when the presence of God is within you in all your work and you are doing it for the glory of His name. Have you ever asked yourself why some wealthy people continue to buy more and more property that they don’t even put to full use? People buy bottles of wine that cost millions and yet hardly ever drink them. It’s because using their money that way gives them a temporary feeling of satisfaction for all their hard work. This is called emptiness of purpose. You may be rich but with no Godly purpose, you will always feel unsatisfied.

However, if you have taken time to seek God and have discovered your calling and purpose, the emptiness is taken away because you begin to do things with a purpose higher than your personal satisfaction. For example, people in the ministry of compassion mainly care for under-privileged people. The majority of them hardly ever do anything different; they work for part of the year and they spend the rest of the year travelling the world, solving other people’s financial problems, introducing people to Christ and setting them up to be productive members of the body of Christ. Yet they could spend the year travelling the world for their personal benefit. They sometimes seem to forget that they are rich. This is because they walk in the light of their calling. They are just happy practising their calling. The presence of God brings purpose in our lives and takes away the burden of having useless wealth. People that are wealthy in Christ are too busy preaching and practising their calling to remember that they have a billion dollars to spend on the things that the world expects them to buy. This is the type of comfort God desires for us. You become comfortable with the lifestyle of sharing what you have with the poor because it is the seed that God has planted in your spirit. Proverbs 10 verse 22 “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.”

In simple terms, in your calling is where all the wealth and satisfaction is hidden. The more you are in it, the more you realise that you don’t need too much effort to be wealthy. It just comes as a “revelation” in your spirit. It just comes!! Most of these Christian businesspeople just enjoy spending their money on the things that are close to their heart. For example, I love giving things away and seeing people smile. That is just what I love doing, I also love teaching people how to be rich. The things I cannot fully illustrate on a stage because of time I write down in books. It’s just what God put in me. If every Christian practised their calling at full strength and as per instruction of God, can you imagine how much the world would be drowning in the presence of the Almighty?
