Zumba Fun Day in the Park

- Lee-Anne Hall Sunday Life Correspondent

EVER tried dancing for Charity? Well here is your chance to be a part of an amazing Family-fun-day filled with loads of fun.

Zumba-Fun-Day in the Park is a fundraising event hosted by Mirror Image Foundation, an NGO which deals with menstrual hygiene of school going children, also putting an emphasis on the sustainability of WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) principles. The event will be held at the Waterfront in Bulawayo on 12 August.

The catch is that people should be there before 8am and do some Zumba- which is aerobic fitness done to music.

There will be other activities throughout the day. Some like to call it the ‘dancing exercise’ and is enjoyed by people of age groups. And the most exciting part is that our very own Zumba-Zim Celeb ‘Zorro’ will be the coach. Why morning? Well, most people like to start the day with a morning exercise to hype up the rest of the day. Other activities such as canoeing, ziplining and trampoline (for children) will be available.

Feel free to set up your braai stands and have a great day with your families. What a great way for the school kids to start their holidays. Why not just call it a picnic too right?

Please come out in your huge numbers and support our girls to carry on going to school. All you need to do is bring your family and friends, put on your comfortable clothes (gym) and carry your water bottle.

Tickets are already on sale at “Mzansi 4 Sure” boutique which is opposite Haddon n Sly as well as at Fingerz hair salon at 5 for adults and $2 children. Stalls will be $10 for those that would like to sell of showcase their products.

The money fundraised will be directed towards the 125 young girls that Mirror Image Foundation sponsors. Currently, we have an on-going “Buy-A-Pad” campaign where we encourage schools, Individuals and companies to each donate 1 packet of pads a month which will ensure 1 child goes to school.
