BULAWAYO City Football Club is moving towards digitalisation after unveiling plans to increase their online visibility.

Speaking to Sunday News Sport, the Castle Premiership club’s chairman, Jerry Sibanda said they were in the process of designing the club’s website and establish social media platforms in efforts to increase their market value and also provide an ever present communications network with both supporters and partners.

Sibanda said the club’s executive resolved to engage a web designer and development individual whose mandate will be to establish and manage their online presence.

“We met as an executive and resolved to engage someone to design and manage our website with the view of increasing our online presence as well as to introduce new channels of communication with our supporters and partners,” Sibanda told Sunday News Sport.

He said the decision to join the growing trend by professional football clubs would help the club market itself and its players to a larger market.

“We understand the need to sell ourselves as a club and our players to the global village at large to ensure growth of both the club and the individual players who catch the attention of bigger clubs,” he said.

“In today’s world, a vibrant online presence is key to development and communication. It has become the most effective way to communicate latest news and important information to all our stakeholders,” the Amakhosi chairman added.

The online presence will also seek to showcase both their professional players as well as their juniors.

e club is looking at establishing Instagram, Vimeo, Snaptchat and other social media platforms to augment the new website as well as its existing Facebook and Twitter accounts. Sibanda said players and employees will be expected to play a responsible role on the club’s social media platforms.
