Gospel Unplugged, Snowy ready for solo album

ONE of Bulawayo’s s fast-rising ensembles, Gospel Unplugged, vocalist Sipho ‘‘Snowy’’ Ncube is set to prove his versatilit­y through his much h anticipate­d debut solo album which will be launched on 3 March at Harvest House Internatio­nal.

Dubbed Hanya, the he eight-track album is set to keep the city of Kings alight through the different sound d fusion on the tracks which tickles es on rock, house, mbaqanga and R’n’b. Featuring on the album is songbird Amanda a Grace and Caleb Nsipha among others.

“I believe this is going to be one of the best albums in Bulawayo wayo since it has been een produced by one of the best producers s in town, Erastus Nleya who has come up with the e x t r a o rd i n a r y sound in the album and the songs are a mixture of Ndebele, e, Shona and English sh which accommodat­e ate everyone,” Snowy y said.

The solo album carries with it a message of encouragem­ent and testimony of his life, on how God has taken him to be what he is today. “As a budding gospel artiste God has been there for me through my career and the message m that I’m sending out to all music lovers i is that God is concerned about all of us no matter m what one has gone through, God is alwa always there to listen to our concerns,” Snowy said said. Asked why he decided to ma make a solo album, Snowy said it was high time he showed the world that he ca can take his music career to the next level though he i is still with Gospel Unplugged. Unplugg “People hav have received me warmly d despite my skin colour and they have seen something great in me hence the de decision to come up with my own music and show sh my fu full potential without the h shadow of Gospel Unplugged,” Unplu he said. On th the line-up during the day is gospel songbird Lorraine Stot, Carlos Ph Phiri, Caleb Nsipha, Aman Amanda Grace and Nceku.
