2018 Motor racing calender is out!

-

a day licence in order to compete. New drivers are encouraged to start out in the Ultimate street car class.

Street cars are just ordinary street cars with the standard seat belts.

The driver must have a helmet and long sleeves and trousers and closed shoes for their safety. It’s a good way to gain experience and get to appreciate and love the game.

Following the Nationals is the Africa Day Castrol HP Lubes Drags on May 25. Motor-heads out there will get yet another chance to feel the track and settle their grievances on the tarmac like men.

The BMC continues with its Race Legal campaign as it encourages people to race legally in controlled environments.

The motto is “race the track and not the streets”. Street racing is not only dangerous to the drivers but to the other road users as well, so keep it safe – bring that adrenalin to the track as this day has been set aside just for you.

The idea is to bring all the street racers to a controlled environment where they can race legally and safely. Now to spice things up, car crews out there will be encouraged to come out and compete. We want to see the crew with the fastest cars and the fastest drivers. Winning always takes a combination of the two and not one.

There are fast cars and fast drivers then fast cars and slow drivers. A combination of both fast cars and fast drivers is the real deal. It’s skill combined with precision that takes the cup.

One well known racer once said, ‘Winning is nice but that’s not all racing is about, it’s also about the experience and surpassing your own previous records and eventually becoming a better driver on public roads’.

Racing takes a lot of skill that cannot be attained overnight, gradually make it a culture and who knows where it can get you?

On the 30th of June we will have the Nationals again followed by another public drags event on the 4h of August. 01 September the show goes on with the Nationals bringing us to the Castrol HP Lubes drag event on the 3rd of November. All unsettled matters will have this one last chance as this will be the last drag event of the year before The 3 hour endurance race on the 1st of December. It will mark the end of the season for 2018. All the big boys come out to play on the 1st. Make a date it’s always a show not to miss.

As usual your $5 will get you in and its free if we have reason to believe you are under the age of 12. BMC members have free access to all the events throughout the year. Full bar and catering always available at all events but remember –do not drink and drive.

Keep the diffs locked, keep it safe, keep the dates and see you there.
