Prophet Chiza pays fees for Maranatha “victim”

EAGLE Life Assembly Church has come to the rescue of a bright ex-Maranatha High pupil who was about to miss out on university after the school had withheld his results over a $500 school fees debt.

Maranatha High School in Bulawayo had almost scuttled Takudzwa Gomera’s dream after ignoring the boy’s mother’s plea to make a payment plan to settle the arrears. Eagle Life Assembly Church leader Prophet Blessing Chiza paid $500 which the school was demanding after reading the boy’s story that was published by Sunday News recently.

Now Takudzwa has managed to apply to study law at the University of Zimbabwe. The overwhelmed Takudzwa could not hide his excitement during a handover which was held after the church on Sunday.

“I’m shocked and very excited at the same time. When I received a call from the prophet informing me that they were going to clear my school fees arrears, I could not believe it. I had just come to terms with that I had missed out on the scholarship I was offered by Herentals because the deadline for applications was close and my mother had no idea how she was going to raise $500. I really thank the prophet for allowing God to use him to help those in need. This is a life changing opportunity for me and my family, which I will forever be grateful for. May he continue to help others in situations like mine.”

Takudzwa’s mother Mrs Rosemary Bagu also said she was happy.

“Eagle Life Ministries came to our rescue at a time when all hope was lost. Now I feel like a heavy burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I’m very happy and relieved that my child has managed to apply on time. I could not eat for three consecutive days because of this situation,” she said.

Prophet Chiza said it was his calling to help those in need because his ministry was founded on love.

“As servants of God, our first calling is to show love to humanity which is what God has taught us to do. This is the love of God because the Bible says God is love and you cannot say you love God when you can’t love the brother next to you. Money must make someone smile, and when you give, God gives you more. That is why we continue to help children with school fees monies and scholarships among other things. To be honest the world now has no love, people just ignore each other, there is selfishness, so that is the spirit we are trying to kill in Bulawayo. So, if we were to help each other in Bulawayo no one would be in need,” he said.

Takudzwa, after failing to get the O-level results relied on his instinct to proceed to A-level. As if that was not enough, he skipped Lower Sixth, and went straight to write examinations after doing a few lessons with a private tutor. He then managed to score 15 points but could not apply to study at the University of Zimbabwe since the institution demanded that he had to produce the O-level results.
