Man forced to drink urine over ‘prostitute’

- Michael Magoronga Midlands Correspondent

A KWEKWE man was allegedly forced to either perform 1 000 press ups or drink his own urine, of which he did the latter, after he was caught having sex with a popular gold panner’s “hooker”.

Titus Mbano will forever rue the day he decided to quench his sexual appetite with Ms Miriro Tavengerwei, an alleged established Amaveni commercial sex worker. This emerged when Willard Sibanda (29) appeared before Kwekwe magistrate Mr Livard Philemon last week facing two counts of theft and one count of indecent assault. The matter was postponed to Tuesday for trial. The court heard that on 12 May, Sibanda hired Ms Tavengerwei and the two spent the night together at the woman’s place.

He is alleged to have also declared that the commercial sex worker now belonged to him only. The following morning, he went away but returned to check on Ms Tavengerwei but he found her not at home. He allegedly took from the house a 5kg packet of mealie-meal and 2 litres bottle cooking oil and left. Sibanda returned later in the day and after failing to locate the woman again, he took a cellphone and left.

He came back in the evening and found Ms Tavengerwei in the company of Mbano. The angry Sibanda then quizzed where Mbano got the permission to be intimate with his “wife”. Machete in hand, Sibanda asked Mbano to choose between doing 1 000 press ups or to drink his own urine. Mbano failed to do the press ups and chose to drink the urine of which he did before he was released. He quickly made a police report at Amaveni Police Station leading to the arrest of Sibanda. Mr Christian Gatsi prosecuted.
