All kingdoms have rules that you must follow

-

EVERYONE wants money. That is part of the reason why the rise of prosperity gospel preachers has gone up to what we could classify as insane. People want easy money, the kind they just receive without having to follow principle, law of need to be faithful to any cause. The truth of the matter is, however, you make your money, you will need to follow certain rules and regulations to have the money and continue to follow them in order to keep it.

To simplify things, you can make money from a witch doctor, but you need to follow his rules and regulations in order to make it and keep the money. Just as Jesus can make you rich, but there are exceptions and rules in the kingdom of God. Which then brings us to the issue of religion.

Religion is a personal thing, that is why it cannot be forced on anyone. If one believes in Islam, they cannot force me to believe in Islam because they think it is the way. Just as I cannot force anyone into believing in Christ. I’m reminded of stories where people are forced into particular religions because of circumstances. For example, when you are at a school that will make you attend prayer regardless of your interest. What normally happens with such people is that as soon as they break free from the thing holding them in that position, they stop attending prayers because they had no interest in it. So religion cannot be forced on anyone, it is something that should be accepted with willingness of the heart. It’s the same when one wants money and they come to church, as soon as they get the money, they walk out of church because they did not come for Christ and did not get to hear about him when they came. This is the nature of a halfbaked gospel of Jesus.

When we explain our faith to people and introduce them to our Jesus and they willingly accept, then we have grown. We therefore have people who understand that you will become wealthy because of Jesus, but wealth is just a by-product of Christianity and the main product or aim is to get you to Heaven. The only part of Christ some people may ever experience is interaction with you. Thus you must be a good representative of Christ. Our lives should be a photocopy of the Bible. If the Bible says we are one thing, we should not then exhibit another thing because we are preaching ourselves in the way we behave. Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

It is a mandate for every Christian to preach Christ. You may not be a pastor, you may not be active in ministry but as soon as you receive Christ, you preach him to others. You introduce Christ to others by telling them what he has done for you. Our faith only grows when it is shared.

The devil harvests more people into his kingdom than us and it is our fault. We have not stepped up our efforts as he has. Today drugs are readily available to teenagers and the entire generation is at a risk of being lost. While all this is happening, church is less and less accessible because we judge people that walk into our doors. Churches want you to speak in a certain way, they want you to dress in a certain way for them to accept you. This has caused a rift between us and the harvest we have been called to go and gather. We love all people, gay, lesbians, thieves, drunkards, murderers and all you can think of. What we do not love is their behaviour. It is our job as a church to explain to people who live in sin why they are the way they are, we must explain why they need to change, we must explain how they go about changing and we restore them to Christ.

In a nutshell, you can get wealthy from other means other than Christ. It all depends on your willingness to accept the terms of the kingdom from which you get your wealth. Personally I’m for Jesus 100% because I have seen the evidence of grace in my own life, I have experienced his love and continue to experience it and most importantly, he is the only true God, everyone else is after your soul.

John 14:6

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Always remember that Jesus loves you so much that he died for you on the cross. That on its own is reason enough to prove his unconditional love. No other religion has a founder who was willing to die for his people. Be blessed.
