Passion inspired me: Dvarren

- Martha Leboho Sunday Life Correspondent

HIS voice is so captivating, making his music unique and different from other artistes in Masvingo.

He has been nominated for the best new comer and best album of the year at the Masvingo Music Awards which speaks volumes of his potential.

Popularly known as Dvarren, 20-year-old Deliverance Majaya is both a producer and a musician who is likely to be the talk of the town if he continues to work hard in his art.

His passion for music, he said, started showing when he was in Grade One. He started participating in musical events at school and church, little did he know that one day he will share the stage with popular artistes in the country such as Ti-Gonz.

With no artiste to inspire him except his love for music, Majaya has recorded 40 singles and collaborations mixes, some of his songs features Zimbabwe’s popular artistes like Ti-Gonz, Alchemy, Nash and Skatter.

“My love for music inspired me to hit the stage. I do not have any artiste who inspired me to become an artiste. I consider myself more of a singer than rapper, I have recorded 40 singles and collaboration mixes. But marketing is the greatest challenge for individual artistes like me since I don’t have a have record label that has signed me, but these challenges taught me to grow strong in the music industry” he said.

Born and bred in Masvingo in the high-density suburb of Mucheke he was nominated best new comer and best album of the year at the Masvingo Music and Arts Awards in 2019.
