Power of the mind

Romans 12: 2; “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

THE mind is an amazing batting field within the body. It is the theatre where things either come to be or they die. So many times people have quoted this statement that they say is found in the Bible, but invariably no one has quite found where it is located.

It’s said that God helps those who help themselves, though this principle may be right in jolting people into action, the Bible has thus far quoted this in a categorical manner.

God creates opportunities for you; places, people and encounters, your mind then determines whether you want to climb the mountain, circumvent it or simply say it cannot be done.

We attribute good fortune to luck and bad occurrences to misfortune.

Your mind is the starting point of how you manifest yourself, how you relate to other people and how you determine the things around you.

God gave each of us the ability to reason, to think, to deduce and to make decisions. Our decision making processes are determined by how our minds function. Your mind can either make you or break you.

We all grew up listening to the story of Esau and Jacob.

From the onset of the human race, the mind has been a determining factor in how people perceive things. Of the two brothers one determined that he would trick his way to be the birthright by soliciting his father’s blessings.

He succeeded in his deception, he created a setting in which he would smell like his brother and be as hairy as his brother by falsely having the shavings of an animal placed on his body.

He succeeded in his goal and the birthright was his. Such is the mind, it can propel us to do all manner of things both good and bad. However, the most important lesson to be drawn is that the mind can be a powerful weapon for good if used properly. It can make a difference, change lives, build, dream amazing things and bring them to life.
