True war veterans remain loyal to President, Zanu-PF

-

EDITOR — As war veterans, we are sure of what we want and it’s the authentic leadership that Zanu-PF has mastered over the years.

Our loyalty to President Mugabe cannot be moved, however the circumstances.

What Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube says is true, we support our God-given President.

Rogue elements should be warned and know that whatever their attempts, 10 Zanu-PF provinces in this country have endorsed President Mugabe as our candidate and we are happy with that.

Anyone who fought the liberation struggle in the early 1960s knows that the code has always been that the party is supreme, the party commands the gun, it’s not the gun that commands the party and there is no reason for any genuine war veteran to be against His Excellency.

President Mugabe is our figure head and as children we would always come back to him for guidance. He is the sole centre of power in the country and party.

One person cannot speak for all of us as it has been proven over and over again by Christopher Mutsvangwa’s misplaced outbursts.

He is entitled to his opinion, but that should not be interpreted as a blanket opinion representing all of us. Many of us war veterans are loyal to the President and we shall continue to be. As war veterans, we want to send a clear message to any doubting Thomas speculating on who would be the party’s candidate in 2018.

We know there are prophets of doom who are talking about succession and speculating on the party’s candidature, despite the fact that we have been clear and already endorsed our candidate as Zanu-PF.

Opposition personalities should stop trying to play referee in Zanu-PF’s affairs and focus on their mediocre political parties.

Cde Nyahuma, Kwekwe.
