WELL DONE girls by outwitting the boys in the Advanced Level exams! This is evidence that Zimbabwean girls are very bright. So let’s now remove the affirmative action which lowers entry points for females at colleges for this is no longer affirmative, but rather discriminatory against the boys. — Joe, Kwekwe.

*** Let’s have proper roadblocks which are clearly marked in line with their purpose. Motorists are being ripped off when police come to “assist” ZBC licence inspectors. Police are also fining drivers for other things which are not in an way related to what the ZBC licence inspectors will be doing. These clandestine settings fuel corruption. — DG, Kuwadzana.

*** Philip Chiyangwa could be the best Zifa president. In my view the Warriors are entitled to the money they were given. Nothing like this has ever been done and Zifa are doing something very special for the players. We should applaud them. — Kumbirai Marumahoko, Highfield.

*** While some of us wanted victory at all costs, the outsider perspectives should make us salute our Warriors for that draw. Our feelings might have been diluted because it is our Warriors, but other expert opinion should help us to appreciate how much we punched above our weight. We might have missed an opportunity, but the gap we have closed by creating that opportunity is huge. — Bla Joe, Warren Park.

*** It is very worrying that our daughters are falling prey to trafficking. What has this world come to? I think for now people need to focus on local universities because the risks coming with these dubious European institutions are too high for a parent to take. — Lillian, Harare.

*** We are having serious problems with Zesa technicians. They respond late to faults and it has become a norm that if you do not visit their depots, they will not attend to faults and most of the time we go for days without electricity. Zesa should attend to electrical problems in time. It’s been two days now since we reported an electrical fault and we haven’t seen anyone from Zesa to rectify the problem. — Nomsa Khosa, Marondera.
